Tigran Mkrtchyan, Ambassador of Armenia to Lithuania, met with Raimundas Karoblis, Minister of National Defence of Lithuania.
At the beginning of the meeting Ambassador Mkrtchyan congratulated Raimundas Karoblis on being appointed as Minister of National Defence of Lithuania.
The Ambassador underlined that as a result of agreements from 2002 and 2012 on cooperation in defence sphere, intensive and stable interaction has been formed for the further development of which all respective prerequisites are existing.
Referring to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, Ambassador Mkrtchyan mentioned that Armenia together with the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs is exerting efforts in order to create the necessary conditions for moving forward the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The Ambassador added that by regularly violating the ceasefire Azerbaijan is further prolonging the possibility of a peaceful settlement of the conflict.

The interlocutors lent importance to the cooperation between Defence Ministries of Armenia and Lithuania within the frames of NATO Partnership for Peace programme.
The Ambassador thanked the Lithuanian side for the support in defence education programmes and for the willingness in sharing with experience.
Lithuania’s National Defence Minister and the Armenian Ambassador underlined the importance of continuity of mutual visits by various officials from the defence ministries of both countries.
