February 17,2017 05:29

Pertaining to the fact of seeking a shelter in Armenia by Talish journalist Shahin Mirzoev with his family escaping Azerbaijani repression, the assessment of the leaders of “Talish National Movement” is positive.  Said the expert in Iranian studies Vardan Voskanyan to Aravot.amin.  He noted that some Talish resident living in Azerbaijan, in their turn, came up with condemning statements, “It is natural because otherwise could not be expected as a result of pressures implemented by Azerbaijani totalitarian administration.  These people have a position but had to express otherwise.”

Our interlocutor opines that Armenia’s giving a shelter to Talish political activist is a humanitarian act which raises our country to the level of the bearer of universal values.  “Besides, the Azerbaijani natives view Armenia as an important country until now, and now, their confidence towards Armenia grew several times,” added Vardan Voskanyan.  Note that Shahin Mirzoev also emphasizes the influence of the Aliyev totalitarian regime not only over some Talish politicians but also over his own relatives.  In particular, Mirzoev’s 92-year-old father who has remained in Azerbaijan was forced to tell that he renounces his son.
