ORO alliance kicked off its campaign in Charentsavan. Vartan Oskanian assured Charentsavan people that during these elections people really have an alternative. He was skeptical saying that he does not know whether this alternative existed during the previous elections or not but now, there is a true alternative, “If we were interested in the position and become rich, do not believe it, we have had this opportunity and would have done it and be somewhere else. We had this chance, but we made our choice and our choice is Armenia. Our goal is just, we believe that we can change the situation.”
Vartan Oskanian said that Seyran Ohanyan, Raffi Hovannisian and he had no moral right not to give themselves to the people, “It was the voice of the homeland that made Raffi Hovannisian and me leave our quiet life in the United States. As mentioned by the hero of Artsakh, Seyran Ohanyan, “We are going to carry out radical reforms in the governance system. There will be a conceptual work which is missing in our country. There will be an accountability to the people. We promise that we will be accountable if not, we are ready to deserve the universal judgment of the people. I’m not saying this for no reason, this is sincerely coming from my heart.” We say, enough the permissiveness, enough the injustice. If we strengthen justice everywhere, everything will move on smoothly. I have been the head of the NKR Defense Army for a long time, I have been a Defense Minister here and have seen that if you create an atmosphere of justice, the rest goes by itself.”
It is noteworthy that Seyran Ohanyan when being in Hrazdan and Charentsavan, made a comparison with Georgia and said that Saakashvili developed Georgia, and we following his example will not make the mistakes that Saakashvili allowed, “Saakashvili’s mistakes lies in the fact that he opposed the country’s economic development with anti-Russian policy. Armenia also needs drastic and tough reforms but combining the development of our economy, the reforms with our strategic ally Russia with a new quality of economic cooperation.
