Azerbaijani forces breached the ceasefire across the Line of Contact between Nagorno Karabakh hand Azerbaijan around 60 times overnight to May 16-17, firing more than 900 shots toward the Armenian positions from firearms of different calibers.
Apart from firearms, the Azerbaijan forces applied 82mm (4 shells) and 120mm (17 shells) mortars in the eastern direction, 60mm (4 shells), 82mm (15 shells) mortars and antitank grenade launcher (5 shells) in the northeastern direction of the Line of Contact.
Defense Army of the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Republic reports, Karabakh frontline units took retaliatory measures to suppress the adversary’s offensive activity and continued carrying out the reliable protection of the combat positions.
As of morning May 17, the operative situation on the frontline remains relatively calm, the release added.
