Over Syunik 200 monuments in one map-guideline

The “Map-Guideline of the Historical Monuments of Syunik Province” has been published initiated by the foundation examining the Armenian architecture and “Duty of Soul” NGO. The guideline of Syunik cultural heritage and tourist centers will be useful particularly for the local and foreign tourists, students, tour-operators.

According to the President of “Debt of Soul” NGO Shoghine Hovhannisyan, it is aimed at developing tourism in Syunik: “The major tourist centers of Syunik are Tatev monastery and the ropeway, however, the guideline informs of other monuments alike. We have provided them free of charge to Syunik Regional Administration and 42 travel agencies.”

The head of the foundation examining the Armenian architecture, monument specialist Samvel Karapetyan informed that Syunik is rich in 5000 monuments, and 200 are possible to include in the guideline: “A lot of people prefer to travel by walkways, a part of them by bicycles, and this guideline will enable them to be informed of the location of the villages, the places of the monuments, etc. We have included monuments of any kind, wellsprings and bridges comprised.”
