The head of “Modus Vivendi” analytical center Ara Papian lately expressed a concern that the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia pursues lazy politics. He also criticized the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia that instead of complaining the institution is not responding equivalently even to the firing of the peaceful population of Tavush Marz, or to the Bulgarian documents, according to them Azerbaijan has provided weapons to the Islamist terrorist groups.
Aravot.am asked Tigran Balayan, the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Armenia is the Foreign Ministry going to reconsider its policy because of the criticism. Mr. Balayan answered: “Armenia pursues initiative and very active foreign policy, and leaders of UN and of other international organizations have noted it. The reputation of Armenia in international arena proves it. And those who make such statements prove that they even do not have elementary knowledge about foreign policy, diplomacy, and international relations.
Ara Papian has also noted that Foreign Ministry had had a tradition to hold weekly briefings. We asked Tigran Balayan is it possible to recover that tradition? The Foreign Ministry spokesperson assured that the ministry always expresses its point of view and Foreign Ministry officials are one of the most available and most covered officials.
