The Ministry of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies intends to renovate some interstate highways, for which it requires money from the government. This has been revealed during the government’s session of July 27 agenda.
As it is mentioned within the draft decision, the reserve fund of the government will provide the ministry with 559.5 million AMD for the renovation of the highway.
The substantiation of the program constitutes that in the result of the procurement competitions implemented via “Renovation of Highways of National Significance” and “Renovation of Transportation Objects” programs from 2017 state budget, savings have occurred amounting to 797.7 million AMD, comprising the savings due to the removal of 3 objects from the list of the objects requiring renovation which cost 55.0 million AMD.
Minister Vahan Martirosyan suggests: “to provide 70% of the savings, 559.5 million AMD to the government’s reserve fund, and to distribute 30% – 238.2 million AMD for the provision of the passability of separate parts of a set of roads because of winter and spring floods and for the current (hole) and medium repairs of a series of new objects.”
Pursuant to the draft decision, the highways of national significance subject to renovation are: H-1, Yerevan-Ashtarak-Gyumri-Georgia border km 171+300-km 172+875 and km 173+305-km 173+335 sections which will cost 202 million AMD. H-4, Yerevan-Sevan-Ijevan-Azerbaijan border km 106,1-km 110,9 (Haghartsin village territory) section, which will cost 318.5 million AMD. To provide the passability of H-3, Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-Georgia border km 2.1-km 6.0 section, 14.6 million AMD will be spent and the same amount of money will be spent on the provision of the passability of H-3, Margara-Vanadzor-Tashir-Georgia border km 46.0-km 50.0 section. 9.7 million AMD will be allocated to provide H-6 H-2 Eghvard transport hub-H-1 km 12.0-km 18.2 section passability.
