When people approach me in the streets of Yerevan and speak about “shooting and burning”, this is unacceptable to me, not only because I am against such methods, but also because they seem to expect that I will do it for them. When “Sasna Tsrer” or any other such armed group “shoots and burns”, it is again unacceptable to me, but at least I see some consistency here: they say and do, for they see the salvation of the nation in “shooting and burning”.
But when our former citizens sitting under palm trees in distant “Glendales” start giving “valuable advice” on the Internet, on how we should here in Armenia “burn and shoot”, or how should the Armenian army occupy Barda, Yevlakh, Nakhichevan and Baku, that’s ridiculous. Of course, I am not anyone’s judge: anyone lives wherever they want and how they want, it’s their business. There are 2-3 Armenians who prefer to live in Baku, I do not see a problem. I also understand the concerns of our compatriots living away from their homeland when those are formulated well-balanced and correct.
I do not understand the following style: “You are all slaves there that you can’t even bang this government up”. People who are 11,5 thousand kilometres away from any type of danger, try to self-establish in a virtual way by calling for bloodshed here. Naturally, a proposal arises: come and shed yourself. If you are imprisoned for it, I assure you there will be human rights defenders who will consider you a political prisoner. So, the hero’s crown and glory are guaranteed.
I do not think that most of the former Armenians living in California are in favour of shedding blood in Armenia. Just the supporters are very active and aggressive, and adequate people do not dare to oppose them. The same is in Armenia: I, for example, know very well that after such articles, supporters of “shooting and burning” start “attacking”. But I do not think that “all the people” think so.
Since we receive thousands of pieces of advice from there, I will give my advice too. Try to seize any Glendale police department with arms and see what they will do with you.
