Hrayr Maghakian, an Armenian scientist, lecturer at the Katowice University in Poland, last time was in Armenia in 2012. He notices many positive changes, d is displeased only with Yerevan taxis. He says those are still dirty, out of order, and dusty, which is not appropriate especially for the city. Hrair Maghakyan also states that, unlike many countries, Armenia has a number of advantages. He refers to the 2017 map of the British Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where they have highlighted the countries they recommend their citizens to visit. Armenia, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Malta, Switzerland and several other countries are highlighted in green.
“Armenia is labeled as the capital of taste in a number of international forums. But we do not notice it, do not take an advantage of it, do not use it. The UK Foreign Ministry says Armenia is a safe country, while it is surrounded by countries which are highlighted in red, and brown. They encourage their citizens to visit Armenia. We do not advertise Armenia “abroad”. Furthermore, private individuals cannot do that, there should be a state program. We should make use of this fact so that the British Government highlights us in green for the next years as well”, says Hrayr Maghakian.
