The EU-funded Cross-border Cooperation Programme has announced the signing of the first six grant contracts to be implemented within the Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Programme for 2014-2020.
All six projects that were awarded grants come under the thematic objective of heritage. They aim to preserve natural, historical and cultural heritage along the borders between Belarus, Poland and Ukraine.
Contracts have been signed to fund the following projects:
•“Nature without Borders – Maintaining a Common Natural Heritage in Dobromyl (Ukraine) and Zagorz (Poland) Communes”
•“Protecting Solina Lake and Schodnica’s Sources of Healing Waters – a Common Challenge and Opportunity to Maintain and Exploit the Potential of Natural Heritage”
•“Starting Centres of Work with Youth in Miejsce Piastowe and Skole – Cultural and Historical Heritage of Rzeszów-Lviv region as the Foundation of Educational Value of Fr. Bronisław Markiewicz”
•“Bug Unites Us – Creation of Two Cross-Border Touristic Kayak Trails”
•“Tyzenhauz Trail – Creation of a Tourist Route to Promote Cultural and Historical Heritage of Two Cities: Sokolka and Grodno”
•“Cross-border Centres for Dialogue of Cultures: Poland-Belarus-Ukraine”
The Poland-Belarus-Ukraine Cross-border Cooperation programme supports cross-border development processes in the borderland of Poland, Belarus and Ukraine. In 2014-2020, the programme focuses on the promotion of economic and social development and addresses common challenges in environment, public health, safety and security. It also works to promote better conditions and modalities for better mobility of persons, goods and capital.
