Levon Mkrtichyan, Minister of Education and Science, presented details on this question during an interview with journalists after the government session. According to the Minister, special criteria will be developed, through which they will select talented students: “A committee will work in the Ministry of Education where we will try to involve especially representatives of natural sciences. Together with them we will first look for the professions that require continuity. After that list, we will choose what we have today”.
According to Levon Mkrtchyan, 100 points are set as a scale, because the program applies to young people with special talents. He also said that they will ask the National Academy of Sciences and the State Committee for Science for a list of professions that require continuity in science.
According to the Minister, responsible officials should be included in the relevant committee, as well as professionals who enjoy public confidence, for instance, physicists, deans. Levon Mkrtchyan, commenting on the decision made by the government on making amendments to the Higher Education Law and laws related to it, said that with this decision, the higher education system would undergo a radical change.
