EU supports creation of e-tools to assist better governance in Armenia

February 16,2018 15:06

Last week, the Ministry of Justice of Armenia presented two new e-tools developed with EU assistance. These tools should help the country’s citizens, organisations and other stakeholders to send and receive quicker responses to questions and complaints they send to state institutions.

According to the EU, these e-governance and e-justice tools (www.e-hotline.am and  www.e-request.am) are aimed at improving the responsiveness of state services, making them more accessible to the public. The tools should help enhance transparency, reduce corruption risks and promote good governance among Armenian public bodies.

“The main purpose of these activities is to help Armenians benefit in their daily lives; we are moving forward in that regard,” said the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Piotr Świtalski, during the presentation of the e-tools in Yerevan.

“For the European Union, this is a very pleasant occasion, as these projects put Armenia at the forefront of the international community in introducing these innovative tools,” he continued.

The newly introduced e-tools in Armenia will complement other e-governance instruments already established through EU assistance, such as the recently launched e-draft.am, e-civil registry, e-notary and e-police systems.
