The leader of the anti-governmental movement, MP Nikol Pashinyan today started meeting with factions in the Parliament. Pashinyan told the journalists that at the point he cannot tell who from the Republicans will vote for him.
To the question concerning changing the Government and about the fact that his team has addressed the name of the Minister of Emergency Situations Davit Tonoyan, Pashinyan replied that they will discuss the issues of all possible candidates, for now, formulating a normal working environment is a priority.
During the meeting with the Russian State Duma MPs, Pashinyan had said that Armenia-Russia relations will develop and deepen in the future. Hence, the journalists wondered whether he had given up on the wish to leave the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), as “Yelq” bloc had previously organized hearings on this issue. Pashinyan replied: “When you are opposition, you have the opportunity to discuss problems at the executive level of the institution where those problems exist, you should raise the problems and get relevant reactions. But when you are an authority, you have the opportunity to document all problems, conduct negotiations with partner countries and tackle all of them.”
Pashinyan assured that these issues will be solved during discussions: “I have stated that we are not going to leave the EAEU, but that does not mean that everything is smooth in the EAEU.”
The journalists wanted to clarify whether “Yelq” bloc has changed its position. Pashinyan said that the thing is not about “Yelq” bloc, it is about the position of the new potential Government.
