Republican party to provide sufficient votes for Nikol Pashinyan to be elected as Armenia’s PM

Spokesman of the Republican party Eduard Sharmazanov told the reporters that they will support Nikol Pashinyan’s election as prime minister of the country.

Let us remind you, the first election of prime minister was held on May 1. Nikol Pashinyan was the only candidate for the position, but Republican party did not vote for him. He got 45 for, 56 against votes. The next election will be held on Tuesday.

“We will support the candidate for prime minister whom 1/3 of members of parliament support. In this case, that candidate is Nikol Pashinyan if I am not mistaken, 45 signatures have been collected for him. Republican faction will provide the sufficient number of votes to elect Nikol Pashinyan as Prime Minister tomorrow. It was party’s decision,” said Sharmazanov.
