In April, four Armenian companies specialised in precision engineering and the “internet of things” attended the Hannover Messe 2018, the world biggest trade fair for engineering.
The trip was supported by the EU4Business SMEDA (Support to SME Development in Armenia) project, which also organised several preparatory sessions for the companies, as well as a road show to a number of outstanding German entities specialised in engineering.
The companies were selected by SMEDA on a competitive basis, following a call for applications. They were accompanied to Germany by representatives from the country’s Ministry of Economic Development and Investments.
At the Hannover fair, the Armenian delegation presented business opportunities in Armenia under the slogan “Armenia – Explore New Opportunities!”
The EU4Business SMEDA project supports the improvement of the business and investment climate for SMEs in Armenia. It aims to strengthen the private sector, support SME coordination mechanisms, and foster links between research institutions and the private sector, as well as providing access to finance for SMEs.
