“Israel is also considered a friend country of Armenia, where Armenia has a serious historical and cultural presence”, talking to reporters today at the Foreign Ministry, said Tigran Balayan, Spokesman for the Armenian Foreign Ministry, referring to the possible steps for cooperation with Israel.
He noted: “We cannot be indifferent about what is going on in Israel. The intention to have an ambassador in that country pursues that goal”. Let us remind that according to some information Armen Smbatyan will be appointed Armenian ambassador to Israel.
Tigran Balayan stressed that certain steps have been taken regarding the cooperation with Israel since last year: “This course will be continuous”. As for the friend of Armenia, Iran, Balayan said that we have mutually beneficial cooperation with that country and we intend to expand it.
Tigran Balayan also informed that by the assignment of newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan, there will be regular briefings with journalists, if necessary.
