“We have numerous but surmountable problems. All the problems are surmountable,” said Davit Tonoyan, the new Minister of Defense, to the journalists today in Sardarapat, referring to the challenges of the Army. On his future plans, he said: “I will raise the army fighting efficiency and change the army mentality. The corruption risks must be neutralized.”
What concerns the criticism on the appointment of Artak Davtyan as the Chief of General Headquarter, the Minister noticed: “If the Chief of the Operative Department of ten years and the Deputy Chief of General Headquarter are evaluated as unprepared, I have nothing to say.”
