“When one of the representatives of science labels the country as many, there is no desire to engage in science any more”, Minister of Education and Science Arayik Harutyunyan announced during the 2017 budget execution discussions. Let us remind that such statement was made by the President of the National Academy of Sciences Radik Martirosyan.
According to the Minister of Education and Science, if the available funds are spent efficiently, it is possible to succeed in the field of science as well. Talking about fundraising and corruption in schools, the Minister said he had witnessed such schemes in Yerevan schools.
The Minister noted that the apolitization of schools is one of the short-term problems, the politicization of schools has caused great harm to the sphere.
The Minister believes that “the system has been painted with the colors of each Minister of Education in turn”. He will meet with governors of the regions, heads of regional councils and talk about getting rid of these problems.
