President of the Republic of Armenia Armen Sarkissian received Executive Director of the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund Ara Vardanyan, who submitted his resignation letter in connection with the accusation against him for abusing his official position.
By the established order, the application will be sent to members of the Board of Trustees for approval, after which a special commission will be set up, which will elect a new Executive Director of the Fund.
Regarding the situation around the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund, the President of the Republic believes that the Fund has implemented important and useful programs since the establishment of the Third Republic, bringing together national and spiritual structures, benefactors and hundreds of thousands of individuals.
Therefore, the Fund still has a mission to accomplish in Armenia, Artsakh, and the Diaspora. However, it is also clear that the Fund needs new organizational and conceptual approaches that will significantly increase its effectiveness, reliability, and weight.
It is not in vain that during the May 25 sitting of the Fund Board of Trustees the President of the Republic of Armenia instructed to present fundamental reform proposals. Thus, President Armen Sarkissian hopes that the “Hayastan” All-Armenian Fund will overcome this challenge.
