Last week, during the meetings with European Union (EU) officials in Brussels, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made some stresses that were exaggerated by ten times by his fans here: “great! So “dukhov” (bold)! This is the right way! Enough to beg for money from here and there”. However, his fans should understand that Nikol Pashinyan is no longer an oppositionist, moreover, he is not a journalist, and just “speaking “dukhov” (boldly)” is not enough. He is the primary figure in the country and carries out the foreign policy of the country with foreign partners.
The priorities of that policy should be clearly formulated, and the Prime Minister, no matter how much he is loved by the people, only guided by his intuition, cannot give the answers to all the questions alone: the state apparatus should operate in such cases. In particular, before going to Brussels Pashinyan had to clearly know that we do not need money in certain areas, but we need money in these areas and we are ready to take these steps. By the way, in this case, 10 million euros will not hurt either, regardless of the fact that our corruptionists have stolen 10 billion.
Of course, it would be naive to think that it is possible to develop such concepts in all spheres within two months, just I think that as there is no developed strategy, the state officials should be more moderate in their words, to create an opportunity for the largest possible maneuvers. Generally, the representatives of the team in power should understand that they are no longer revolutionaries, or publicists, and should behave like state figures. This, for example, implies not engaging in small Facebook debates.
Interestingly, almost in the same days when Armenians praised the Armenian Prime Minister for “speaking “dukhov” (boldly)”, Americans, on the contrary, strongly criticized their president for not showing enough boldness in the negotiations with Putin. Americans, as well as the political circles, were expecting Trump to put Putin in his place. Not only Armenians or Americans like this, but all nations do. However, I suppose that the US President’s soft approach had its reasons, but we will speak about this another time.
