Leader of National Self-Determination Union Paruyr Hayrikyan is critical about Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s and his government’s personnel appointments. “I cannot understand the policy of ignoring the senior ones and enticing “children”. These are grave sins”, said Paruyr Hayrikyan at a press conference.
“Does not the government know Hrant Bagratyan? He repeatedly stated that he was ready to help, give advice. Has the government ever asked Raffi Hovannisian’s or Ara Papyan’s opinion regarding foreign political affairs? Have they asked for advice from Hakob Sanasaryan or Karine Danielyan while discussing environmental issues? We have renowned professionals who are being ignored. This means disrespect towards seniors”, Paruyr Hayrikyan complained.
Then he referred to his party member Gagik Sarukhanyan’s notion, that during the “My Step” people’s movement, representatives of “Civil Contract” party did not permit leaders of other political forces, including him, to make a speech at the Republic Square. Hayrikyan noted that this has not happened to him since he has such a political biography, that he would never ask someone for permission to make a speech.
There was just one case when he offered an option of changing the Constitution, as it was unacceptable to make a revolution by Serzh Sargsyan’s Constitution. According to Hayrikyan, he could inform the public about the legal levers of the constitutional change from the platform, but Nikol Pashinyan and his supporters did not admit the proposal of the National Self-Determination Union.
