Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation headed by Jan van Bilsen, Regional Manager of the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group). The Prime Minister noted the importance of continued cooperation and strong relations between the Armenian government and private sector representatives, on the one hand, and the International Finance Corporation, on the other. Nikol Pashinyan expressed confidence that close cooperation might help boost Armenia’s economy and promote the development of the private sector.
The IFC Regional Manager noted that the positive changes in Armenia, the Government’s open and transparent work style provided good opportunities for the country’s development in general, and the private sector, in particular. Jan van Bilsen added that the International Finance Corporation is ready to support the private sector in Armenia in matters of expanding activities and implementing new programs. In this regard, the parties agreed that enterprises should abide by functional internal rules of corporate governance, strive for transparency in their activities and participate in capital markets.
Nikol Pashinyan and Jan van Bilsen took the opportunity to refer to the priorities of the Armenian government.
