Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Jassim Mohammed Al Qasimi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Arab Emirates to the Republic of Armenia.
The Prime Minister stressed the need for the furtherance of relations with the UAE. “We are glad that your country’s business circles are interested in the Armenian market. A business-friendly environment is being shaped in our country, all corruption-driven impediments have been removed, and we will be happy to boost the bilateral economic ties,” Nikol Pashinyan said.
Ambassador Qasimi conveyed congratulations and warm greetings on behalf of the UAE President and the Prime Minister. He assured of his country’s keen interest to develop multifaceted cooperation with Armenia. The Ambassador noted that the trade turnover, direct flights and mutual visits have increased several times in recent years, and went on to note that Armenia enjoys increased interest among the UAE business circles and citizens.
Convinced that there is great potential for the development of bilateral ties, the parties highlighted the activities of the intergovernmental commission (IC), which is going to meet this fall in Yerevan.
Nikol Pashinyan and Ambassador Qasimi discussed the possibility of holding a business forum on the margins of the IC’s upcoming session, as well as a number of issues related to the development of cooperation in agriculture, energy, tourism and information technologies.
