“It is a struggle of consciousness and subconsciousness: not everyone is able to overcome subconscious pressure and think on the institutional plane”, in response to Aravot.am’s question whether what was the reason that his remarks on second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan’s press conference failure were not accepted unequivocally, said Head of the Center for European Studies Arthur Ghazinyan.
Let us note that Arthur Ghazinyan expressed such an opinion on the failure of the second President’s press conference: “What happened at Kocharyan’s press conference, I believe, was wrong. I think we should have given him an opportunity to speak openly and answer questions that are unpleasant and unwanted for him too”. He reminded that the President, as a rule, avoided open press conferences earlier, preferring to communicate with the media which he qualified as “responsible”, thus that conference was a unique opportunity for many citizens to be informed, and because of the failure the people are deprived of that right now.
Arthur Ghazinyan’s remarks became a hot topic of discussions: in particular, questions were voiced whether what Robert Kocharyan was going to say to the public, that the public would suffer a loss if not being informed of it. There was even a view that Robert Kocharyan might have failed the press conference himself.
In response to our clarification whether Robert Kocharyan’s negative image is so deeply curved even in the subconscious of the people who have made a great contribution to politics, that they look at the real facts subconsciously, Arthur Ghazinyan said: “I notice people are not able to judge soberly and cold-heartedly”.
We asked Arthur Ghazinyan, whether, nevertheless, it is not realistic to suppose that Robert Kocharyan himself could fail his press conference, he said: “Of course, no”.
