During the questions and answers session of the National Assembly, Ashotyan asked the prime minister to look at the incidents that took place on October 2nd during the protests, regardless of political party membership. He said that many cars suffered damage.
According to a publication by armlur.am, RPA faction parliament member Galust Sahakyan and “Tsarukyan” alliance Arayik Aghababyan and Vanik Asatryan announced that the tires on their cars had been punctured by protestors and the material had been damaged. Arayik Aghababyan denied in an interview with us that his car had suffered from any damage.
Aravot.am spoke with parliament member Vanik Asatryan. He said that there was really a problem with all four wheels on his car, but they hadn’t been punctured, instead, they were lowered. When asked how much in material damages that cost and if he was preparing to complain to law enforcement, Asatryan said, “We called a mechanic, and he came and changed the four tires. Nothing had happened to the tires; they simply lowered them and wrote bad words on the hood of the car. They also wrote on the back windows. They wrote ‘traitors’ and other curses. I spent 18,000 dram, it wasn’t too much.”
He assured that he doesn’t have any complaints and will not reach out to law enforcement.
When asked if he knew whether or not it had only been his car that was damaged, Vanik Asatryan said, “Every car that had National Assembly license plates had its wheels lowered.”
