During the framework of the 17th annual Francophonie Summit, French First Lady Brigitte Macron and Armenian First Lady Anna Hakobyan visited museums in Yerevan. After leaving the Cafesjian Museum of the Arts, Macron told reporters, “I want to thank Armenia for this wonderful welcome. We learned a lot while here and don’t want to leave. People have shown extraordinary generosity which we will remember for a long time. We will visit again.”
A teacher from one of the schools in Byurakan near the Cascade monument, who has been teaching the French language for 37 years, approached Mrs. Macron and had a short conversation with her. The teacher said that it’s not every day when she can speak in French with such high-level guests; therefore, she did not let this opportunity pass by. She gave the French First Lady a warm welcome. Mrs. Macron said that Armenia had greatly welcomed her. The teacher then told Macron that she is the wife of the president of an ally of Armenia, and that we are happy that they recognize and accept the Armenian Genocide.
They had not left the Cafesjian Museum of the Arts yet when Anna Hakobyan said that this is obviously not her first time at the museum, but she is very happy that guests are very impressed by it.
