Parliamentarian of the “Yelq” faction Lena Nazaryan wrote on her Facebook page,
“Dear friends, reporters,
I will briefly discuss the results of meetings I held in Strasbourg with PACE.
During a meeting with PACE President Liliane Maury Pasquier and Secretary General Wojciech Sawicki, I informed them that we expect monitoring co-rapporteurs to listen to arguments from all sides and that they won’t only use the opinions of the Armenian delegation to PACE as a foundation, since the delegation mostly represents opinions of the Republican Party. The RPA will not overshadow the leaders of PACE, and they won’t get far in their political goals. Liliane Maury Pasquier congratulated Armenia on holding a peaceful regime change.
I also met with the newly appointed co-rapporteur of the Monitoring Committee, Andrey Shirchel. I said that we are ready to accept the Monitoring Committee in Armenia in November and answer all of its questions. There will be no obstacles facing them as they carry out their work.
I held meetings with other officials as well. I presented the results of the Velvet Revolution and the government’s priorities, the newest developments in politics, results of negotiations with political forces, and the opinions of the public. Our colleagues in PACE emphasized that they support the revolution in Armenia.”
