“The IT sector needs to become one of the most important pillars of our economy. That depends not so much on the country’s natural supply as it does on the necessity of us being in line with the rest of the world,” Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said to the country’s best IT students and teachers during their awards ceremony.
He raised the question of what it means to work freely in this or any sector. “The most important part of being successful that exists in free conditions is the person themselves. Freedom is when everyone, through their own fight, fundamentals, and desire decides how successful they will be through respecting others.”
Pashinyan said that this, however, doesn’t mean that the state doesn’t have any work to do. “The state has to create the possibility for everyone to have equal opportunities. That needs to rise to new levels. It is important to mention that there are tens of thousands of school and university students in Armenian schools and universities. There is no doubt that the students who won awards today are talented. But no one can say that a student’s talent is limited to their competitors. They simply chose earlier to work on themselves.”
According to Nikol Pashinyan, the competitors decided earlier that they will be successful and they worked hard. “This is the guarantor of success in the New Armenia. Being a certain person’s relative no longer guarantees success in Armenia.”
Nikol Pashinyan refused to answer reporters’ questions.
