Georgia is prepared to carry out new, long-term projects with Turkey and Azerbaijan. Georgian Minister of Foreign Affairs Davit Zalkaliani spoke about this during a press conference in Istanbul with his Turkish and Azerbaijani colleagues, Mevlut Cavusoglu and Elmar Mamedyarov.
According to him, the three countries’ foreign ministers made important decisions during their meetings, and are currently actively working towards preparing strategic projects.
According to Zalkaliani, one of the biggest priorities for the Tbilisi-Ankara-Baku collaboration is tourism.
“As a result of our negotiations, we signed the Istanbul decree. Besides that, we shared ideas about carrying out sectoral collaboration projects between 2017-2019,” the minister said.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov thanked Turkey for its international support.
“Azerbaijan’s investments in Turkey have reached 15 billion dollars. We believe that our mutual plans will continue to benefit Turkey, Azerbaijan, and Georgia. We hope that the construction of the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline (TAP) will be complete before 2020,” Mamedyarov said.
