At the office of the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, President Armen Sarkissian had a meeting with Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Welcoming the official visit of the President of Armenia to Germany, Chancellor Angela Merkel said that she had very good memories of her last visit to Armenia.
She noted that was especially impressed with the TUMO Center for Creative Technologies, and noted at this moment the German side is looking into the opportunities for cooperation.
“Armenia is viewing Germany as an important political and economic partner and a friendly state,”President Sarkissian said and noted that would be glad to meet again and continue discussions on the expansion of the Armenian-German relations.
In his words, the two countries can successfully cooperate in the area of high and information technologies in which Armenia holds a great potential. “Our country may become a platform for different startups,” President Sarkissian underlined.
From the viewpoint of strengthening the ties between the two friendly nations, the President of Armenia and Chancellor of Germany stressed also the importance of expansion of the already existing efficient cooperation in the areas of science, education, and culture. They also spoke about cooperation in the area of tourism and exchanged views on visa liberalization.
