No decision has been made within the CSTO regarding the vote for CSTO Secretary General. Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about this with reporters.
Regarding claims made by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko that the next Secretary-General will be a Belarusian, Pashinyan said, “Decisions are made in the CSTO based on a consensus. The most important issue is not the Secretary-General position. Armenia’s authority in that position had to end at some point. Is that the problem? No, there are more serious problems that are being discussed.”
Former Secretary General Yuri Khachaturov was recalled due to the fact that he was accused of violating the constitution during the events of March 1st.
