Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the representatives of a delegation who have arrived in Armenia on behalf of Aram I, Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia. The delegation comprised Director of the Catholicosate, Assembly Chairman, His Grace Bishop Shahe Panossian, Head of Information Department of the Catholicosate Petros Vardapet Manuelian, Catholicosate Central Department Secretaries Stepan Ter Petrossian and Grigor Mahseredjian.

Greeting the delegation, Nikol Pashinyan recalled with warmth his visit to Antelias, Lebanon, earlier this year and the meeting held with the Catholicos, during which issues of pan-Armenian relevance were discussed.

His Grace Bishop Shahe Panossian noted that the delegation has arrived in Armenia on behalf of Catholicos Aram I to congratulate Nikol Pashinyan on the successful completion of the latest parliamentary elections. “The Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia has conveyed a written message from the Diaspora’s spiritual center, in which His Holiness extends congratulations to you and the Armenian nation, as well as his best wishes for successful accomplishment of all your efforts on the way to new achievements under your leadership,” he said, handing the message to Armenia’s Acting Prime Minister.

Thanking Aram I for congratulations and kind remarks, Nikol Pashinyan conveyed warm greetings to His Holiness and our compatriots in Lebanon.

Bishop Shahe Panossian advised that the Catholicos of the Great House of Cilicia is scheduled to pay a visit to Armenia in January, 2019, which is a good opportunity to discuss issues of pan-Armenian importance, including the Homeland-Diaspora-Artsakh ties and the empowerment of the Armenian statehood.
