“I do not have any information from the central apparatus of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding such changes,” MFA spokesperson Anna Naghdalyan told reporters regarding rumors in the media that current Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan will not be keeping his position in the new government, but deputy Minister Shavarsh Kocharyan will remain.
“The media frequently uses its “close sources” as witnesses, but who are those witnesses who spread information that we don’t even know about? We don’t have such information from any sources,” Anna Naghdalyan noted.
Regarding information in the media that the Armenian Ambassador to the Vatican Mikayel Minasyan will be replaced by Acting Deputy Minister Karen Nazaryan, Anna Naghdalyan said, “The replacement of ambassadors is a natural process in our ministry within the framework of the law. In order to present ourselves correctly, we do not make any comments regarding the appointment and removal of ambassadors.”
