Nikol Pashinyan regarding the Ministry of Diaspora’s fate

January 19,2019 13:51

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke on a Facebook livestream about the optimization of the ministries.

Regarding the fate of the Ministry of Diaspora, Nikol Pashinyan said that the subject of closing the ministry is being discussed since the ministry is carrying out important activities in the Diaspora. The Prime Minister’s cabinet is planning to arrange Diasporan relations. “This means that the seeds of the Ministry of Diaspora will be moved to the Prime Minister’s cabinet as a subdivision. This, however, brings forth the issue of who will be in charge of that. We have several options. One of those options is that the Prime Minister will order the Ambassador to organize projects with the Diaspora, and the Ambassador will be authorized by the Prime Minister to gather information and to help to completely arrange those issues. We will have a new level of relations with the Diaspora in this way.”
