Accompanied by State Revenue Committee Chairman David Ananyan, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan yesterday toured the SRC units. The Head of Government first called at the Ararat regional customs office, where the customs clearance of imported vehicles is being performed. Dissatisfied with the sanitary status of the customs office, Prime Minister Pashinyan assigned to clean up the area within the shortest possible deadlines.
“The sanitary conditions here are disgraceful and unacceptable,” the Prime Minister said and instructed to carry out new markings on the premises and create all necessary conditions for the citizens.
Then, Nikol Pashinyan attended a customs clearance process, which lasted 20 minutes. “We fixed the deadline of 20 minutes with the customs officers and decided that a single vehicle should be cleared in 20 minutes,” the Head of Government said.
Talking to the citizens involved in the customs clearance process, the Prime Minister asked them about the problems faced during the customs clearance process. Some citizens complained of delays in the provision of car license plates. Nikol Pashinyan contacted Police Chief Valeri Osipyan, who said that the problem was due to the increased number of vehicles imported in recent years. “The number of imports has sharply increased. A new batch of plates will reach the country today,” the Prime Minister said.

Nikol Pashinyan next visited the taxpayers’ service hall at 35 Komitas Street, where he got acquainted with the activities of the unit responsible for analysis. The Premier was in the auditorium of the SRC Training Center, where regular trainings and exams are being held. The Head of Government watched the staff’s training process.
During the tour, the Prime Minister got familiarized with the key functions and projects implemented by the SRC Information Technologies Department, including the operations of the SRC server complex and data processing center. The Premier also got acquainted with the activities of the Monitoring Unit, the Taxpayer Service and the Call Center.
Addressing the SRC staff, the Prime Minister noted: “Needless to say how much important the State Revenue Committee is in terms of implementation of our programs and the country’s development. It is crucial for us to find the most accurate, balanced and convenient indicator for Government-SRC-Society cooperation. I want to thank you for the work you have done over the past 10 months. I wish to thank you for living up to the tasks set before you, which makes us optimistic about the future.
It is obvious that the SRC’s performance is largely conditioned by the overall status of the economy, but curbing the black turnover is of paramount importance for us as it instills confidence in the work of government agencies. During the discussion held with economic bloc representatives two days ago in Dilijan, we noted that there were different challenges that we should face, but the GDP-taxes ratio was central in the debate. The SRC has an important role to play in this regard. I can see that the public’s attitude towards the SRC is changing, the level of confidence is on the rise, and I want this trend to be continued.
I would like to thank you for all those efforts being made in that direction. Of course, this emphasis is especially important here, as today the SRC seems to be the pioneer of our state management system as digitization is a priority for our government. This should help us enhance the quality of state services. We must push ahead in this field.
Mr. Ananyan, we talked about this during the workshops, and I think our colleagues may know that the atmosphere of our workshops has improved over the past 10 months. Thank you for that. I want to encourage all of us to make this process irreversible so that we could push ahead confidently and persistently, since this is one of the most important cornerstones of our future success”.
