As discussed in a recent telephone conversation between the Council of Europe Secretary General Thorbjorn Jagland and the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, the high-level delegation of the Council of Europe will visit Yerevan on 30-31 May 2019.
The delegation consists of senior representatives of the Council of Europe Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law; it comprises representatives of the Venice Commission, of the anti-corruption group GRECO, of the Consultative Council of European Judges and of the Commission for Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ), as well as of the Council of Europe’s Directorate of political affairs.
The agenda of the visit includes meetings with the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, with the President of the National Assembly Ararat Mirzoyan, with the Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan, as well with the highest judicial authorities in the country.
The reform process in Armenia, including the fight against corruption, the protection of human rights and the reform of the judiciary, will be discussed.
