According to Aravot Daily’s sources, there was one person with former Police Chief Hayk Harutyunyan at his home in Bjni. This individual asked the investigative body not to disclose their name to the public.
This individual had a personal conversation with Hayk Harutyunyan before he committed suicide. According to our sources, Hayk Harutyunyan had health problems, which he was unable to come to terms with. As a result, he began to abuse alcohol.
When asked whether it’s possible that the former police chief committed suicide due to his illness, his colleague, former Police Chief Alik Sargsyan said that he is convinced it’s not possible. “He was a strong person, strong-willed, and he had a powerful personality. I do not think that his health problems could have led him to do something like that. I saw him three months ago. We decided that we would meet up, but it never happened. I didn’t see him and I don’t know anything about his health. I know that he was a strong and athletic man. I saw on television that he supposedly had cancer, but I don’t know.”
