Cooperation Programmes with European Union presented

On October 3, the Chair of the RA NA Standing Committee on European Integration Arman Yeghoyan and the NA deputies met with the delegation led by Vasilis Maragos, the Head of the Unit responsible for Armenia at the European Commission’s Directorate General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations and Andrea Viktorin, the Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia.

Welcoming the guests in the National Assembly, Arman Yeghoyan expressed readiness for supporting the Head of the newly appointed EU Delegation in the implementation of her important mission in our country.

Considering the EU-Armenia partnership, Andrea Viktorin has noted that the relations rapidly and purposefully develop between the two parties.

Vasilis Maragos presented the road map of cooperation with the European Union, touched upon a number of programmes, noted the ways of their implementation and the financial allocations. The implementation of certain programmes in the spheres of education, energy, small and medium entrepreneurship, agriculture, civil society, electronic government and justice was highlighted. The problems of organizing private small entrepreneurship with privilege credit conditions were also noted.

Vasilis Maragos has informed that the European side is ready to support the reforms in the sphere of education. According to him, the basis of any cooperation is the political dialogue, which is of continuous character. The speaker documented that they would support the future reforms.

Next year a group of specialists will arrive in Armenia who will show expertise assistance in different spheres. Coordinated and distinct programmes would be implemented also in the marzes.
