“Nikol Pashinyan used to say that the April War took place under Russia’s silent permission and so that Azerbaijan can join the European Union. Where did he get that information? The committee has called so many people in for investigation besides Nikol Pashinyan, and he was the one who gave the most valuable information,” Republican Party spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov said during a press conference at the Sputnik Armenia media center regarding the issue of Serzh Sargsyan being present or not at the April War circumstances investigative committee meetings.
“People are wondering whether or not Serzh Sargsyan will go to a committee meeting. Everyone knows that Sargsyan does not have anything to hide from society. But the creation of that committee is another question entirely. I think it’s absurd to create a committee to investigate a war that you won. Everyone who thinks otherwise in this case is just adding fuel to Azerbaijan’s fire,” Eduard Sharmazanov continued.
Sharmazanov also said that he read about how the committee decided to discuss how former Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan said that there was no diesel fuel in military vehicles. Until then, Eduard Sharmazanov believes that it would be better for Nikol Pashinyan’s ‘friends’ in the committee to invite Pashinyan himself for investigation to clarify the source of his information.
Overall, according to Sharmazanov, it is evident that the work of the April War circumstances investigation committee is fake, and their goal is to throw shadows on the fact that Armenia won.
