Reporters asked Minister of Foreign Affairs Zohrab Mnatsakanyan in parliament about his controversial interview with BBC, and in particular, about opinions that he did not emphasize the fact that Artsakh is an Armenian territory and that Armenians are fighting for their right to self-determination. The minister said that he has already spoken about this and has nothing to add.
Aravot Daily asked him why he did not respond to the host’s claim that Artsakh is not Armenian land. Mnatsakanyan said, “There are different approaches and different comments. People made their comments and I am happy that this interview took place while taking into consideration the authority and importance of such an interview. I did it intentionally because it was the best opportunity to have mutual dialogue. As far as comments go, I can get involved and ask why this comma was not placed after this one, but perhaps I can also say that I am happy this program received many views in Armenia. I hope that our compatriots will continue to watch it.”
