the EU Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin participated in the opening ceremony of the Training and Resource Centre of the RA Central Electoral Commission (CEC) and delivered a speech.
The centre has been established with the support of the EU-funded Electoral Support Project in Armenia (ESPA)to operationalise the learning, training and testing activities of the CEC.
The EU Ambassador recognised the excellent partnership built around the UNDP Trust Fund ESPA together with Sweden,Germany, UK and Japan, in close coordination with other development partners. She mentioned that ESPA has delivered a lot in terms of ensuring the professionalism, credibility and inclusiveness of elections in Armenia, thus striving to meet international standards with fully sustainable, nationally-owned electoral processes and systems.
Tigran Mukuchyan, the CEC Chairman and Dmitry Mariyasin, the UNDP Resident Representative cut the ribbon, marking the official opening of the Training and Resource Centre. The event was attended by high-ranking officials and various stakeholders.
