On 9-13 December, the RA Deputy Ministerof Environment Vardan Meliqyan participated in the TAIEX (Technical Assistance and Information Exchange instrument of the European Commission) working discussion on “Expert Mission on the Legislative Framework for the Protection of Biodiversity”.
The discussion was focused on the issues of integrated biodiversity management and improvement of the legislative field.
In attendance were sectorial specialists of the Ministry of Environment, representatives of interested organisations and international experts. Vardan Meliqyan highlighted the importance of expanding the cooperation in the sphere of environmental policy, exchange of experience, as well as the need of implementing biodiversity projects.
In the course of the meeting, legislative reforms, innovative projects and initiatives directed to the environmental policy, remarkably the preservation of fauna and flora and their sustainable development were submitted.
