Lori Rescue Service led by Lori Governor Andrey Ghukasyan summed up the activities of Lori Regional Rescue Department in 2019 with the participation of Deputy Minister of ES of Ara Nazaryan.
Heads of Vanadzor, Spitak, Tashir, Stepanavan and Alaverdi communities of Lori Province, the employees of Lori Regional Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the employees of the regional administration, and other officials were also present at summarizing.
A.Ghukasyan, Lori of RA Governer and A. Nazaryan, Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations presented welcome speech. Lori Governer and Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations welcomed the participants and thanked to Lori Regional Rescue Department for implemented activities.
Lori Governer informed that the cooperation between the Department and Lori Province Government was on a high level.

Then the report on the activities of Lori Regional Rescue Department for 2019 was presented by the Head of the Department, r/s Colonel S. Gabrielyan.
Department activities were aimed at improvement the civil defense system and population protection implementation of tasks in emergency situations during the reporting period.
In 2019, 1425 emergency cases (1258 in 2018) were registered in Lori Province, which resulted in 42 victims (35 in 2018) and 866 casualties (1106 in 2018).
In 2019, compared to 2018, the number of emergency cases in the Province has increased by 167 or 11,6%, the number of victims – by 7 or 16,6%, the number of casualties has decreased by 240 or 21,7%.
2199 outs (1342 in 2018, has increased by 857 or 38,9%), including 809 fires (274 in 2018, has increased by 535 or 195%) were implemented by the Department during the reporting period.
R/s Colonel Gabrielyan said that there were 217 fire hydrants, but 179 of them were function in Province.
There were no fire hydrants in Tumanyan, Gugark and Tashir regions, where 15 hydrants (10 in Tumanyan, 3 in Tashir and 2 in Gugark) were installed by the efforts of the commanders of fire and rescue squads.
Activities of installation of hydrants will continue in 2020.
8 artificial rockfalls activities were implemented by the Department during the reporting period.
2019 was a year of achievements for the Department: Japanese 5 “Isuzu” tankers and the same brand autoladder the subordinate subdivisions of the Department of were rearmed. 9 “”Isuzu” tankers also were added on January 29 in 2020.
The fire and rescue squads of Tashir, Gugark and Tumanyan completely renovated, partly renovations were implemented in the fire and rescue squads were not included in the state program in 2019.
The main activities in the field of population protection will be directed to the prevention, reduction and elimination of possible consequences of emergency situations in 2020.
Colonel Gabrielyan suggested providing with truck rescue vehicle (quadricycle), telescope and drone in order to effectively organize the department and subdivision activities, to respond quickly and promptly to emergency cases.
The measures designed by the main measure plan in 2019 were fully implemented by the Regional Rescue Department. Department is ready to carry out its mandated tasks.
