On March 17, at 17:45 an emergency call was received to Crisis Management National Center that a car had fallen into Lake Sevan near the statue of Akhtamar of Tsovagyugh village, Gegharkunik province.
The operative group of the Regional Rescue Department of the Rescue Service of MES of RA dispatched to the scene.
It turned out on the 71st km of Yerevan-Dilijan roadway “BMW” car (driver Sayat M., born in 1979) had run off the roadway and fallen into Lake Sevan (70 cm depth): special equipment was needed to pull car from the lake.
Before water rescuers arrived on the scene the driver had been transferred to the medical center of Sevan town, where his health condition was assessed as satisfactory.
