Earthquake hits 57 km south-east from Tehran

On May 8, at 00:18 hours local time (20:18 GMT on May 7) the RA MES Seismic Protection Survey Seismological Network registered an earthquake of magnitude 4.7 at 57 km south-east from Tehran town and 1 km of north-west of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The geographic coordinates of the epicenter of the seismic activity are 35․710 in northern latitude and 52․060 in eastern longitude.

The magnitude of the earthquake in the epicenter was 6-7.

According to ”RIA Novosti” news agency as a result of the earthquake there were two people died and 23 other injured.
