Earthquake hits 57 km south-east from Tehran

On May 8, at 00:18 hours local time (20:18 GMT on May 7) the RA MES Seismic Protection Survey Seismological Network registered an earthquake of magnitude 4.7 at 57 km south-east from Tehran town and 1 km of north-west of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The geographic coordinates of the epicenter of the seismic activity are 35․71⁰ in northern latitude and 52․06⁰ in eastern longitude.

The magnitude of the earthquake in the epicenter was 6-7.

According to ”RIA Novosti” news agency as a result of the earthquake there were two people died and 23 other injured.
