A fight broke out between two of the deputies in parliament. Dozens of deputies rushed to break up the fight. The deputies who fought were My Step deputy Sasun Mikayelyan and Bright Armenia deputy Edmon Marukyan.
It started with Marukyan appealed to Babken Tunyan in his speech, the latter of whom published his phone number at the suggestion of Bright Armenia so that citizens could call him with their problems. “You’re saying that I’m lying. Then, you get 120 calls and you claim that Bright Armenia is the one that published your number? You’re an adult. When you say things such as ‘scoundrel’ from the pulpit, it causes tension.”
My Step deputy Sasun Mikayelyan started to shout at Marukyan from where he was seated. Marukyan said, “Mr. Mikayelyan, I am not your uncle.” Then, Mikayelyan attempted to grab his water bottle, which Andranik Kocharyan, who was seated next to him, quickly moved away. “What, what do you want to smack?” Marukyan asked, which caused the two deputies to engage in a fight with one another. The parliament then took a break until 2:00 PM local time.
