Recently the political force that usurped the power in the Republic of Armenia turned to use intensive and harsh methods of political persecutions. This time the direct target of oppression is the “Prosperous Armenia” fraction, its leader, members of the Parliament and fellows.
The force usurped the power in Armenia, does not stop. Everyday Police arrest hundreds of citizens, opponents, public and political figures, Human Right defenders without any legal basis. As a result, the fundamental rights of citizens of Armenia, especially the constitutional rights to freedom of assembly and expression have violated, dissent quells.
“Civil Consciousness” Liberal NGO considers inadmissible the range of political persecutions in Armenia, which has been done by the rule of the power of one family to keep the power and condemns the attempts of silencing the opponents.
We call on all the healthy political and public forces to fight against the authoritarian and somehow domineering actions unleashed by the authorities.
At the same time, we call upon the diplomatic representations accredited in Armenia, especially the embassies of Western countries react as operative as possible the present anti-democratic situation.
