It is mandatory for citizens to wear masks and carry ID starting June 17, fines for not complying

June 16,2020 20:45

All Armenian citizens will be required to carry ID starting on June 17th. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced this during a briefing after the State of Emergency Command session. The Prime Minister explained that it is necessary to have ID due to the fact that, when it is necessary to file administrative cases as a result of people violating the anti-pandemic rules, it is difficult to do so when the individual does not have ID on them. Pashinyan said that not having ID or a mask will result in a fine of 10,000 AMD each.

“We will be enforcing the rules about wearing masks. Until now, the police are carrying out measures for that and they will continue to issue administrative penalties. However, so that we will be able to make use of the police more effectively, representatives of other state agencies will also be present. There will be police in every group, which will result in an increase in the number of groups carrying out administrative enforcement.”
