On July 28, in the National Assembly within the framework of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia programme a discussion of the reports on Parliamentary Building Integrity and Legislative Mapping Relating to It worked out by Ara Ghazaryan Law Office and Transparency International Anti-Corruption Center with the participation of the NA deputies.
In previous months the experts of the abovementioned two organizations studied the legislation of Armenia on parliamentary building integrity and ethics, clarified the legislative gaps and the provisions of regulation necessity. During the discussion, the content of the reports was presented and concrete solutions of regulating the legislative gaps were presented.
Let us note that the UNDP Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia programme is implemented jointly with OxYGen Foundation, International Center for Human Resources and Westminster Foundation for Democracy in cooperation with the RA National Assembly. The programme is carried out with the Good Governance Fund of the United Kingdom and the financial assistance of the Government of Sweden.
The UNDP Modern Parliament for a Modern Armenia project is aimed at strengthening the National Assembly to carry out its key functions of law-making, oversight and representation in its new and fundamentally enhanced role within the governance system. The assistance to the National Assembly addressed to the improvement of the parliamentary building integrity system is also included in the goals of the programme.
